So after a good month or so of complete and utter frock panic, the Scottish Fashion Awards came and went on Sunday in a slick event that screamed Scotland has Style.
In true Beauty Blogger style however I prepped wardrobe, hair and makeup a million times in my head pre-event only to change absolutely everything at the last minute.
I swear I probably went through at least a dozen various dress options, and panic online-ordered 3 or 4 times before settling on a little nude sequinned number from H&M that had been nestling in my wardrobe since last Summer’s bout of opening night parties and evening wedding affairs.

It might have been the glorious evening sun that shone across Glasgow that night that inspired me to ditch my usual smoky eye for a molten metallic look using the seriously sexy Limited Edition Sun Drenched Eye Palette from No 7.**
I absolutely adore the shimmering pigments in this palette and I can see me reaching for this and the Sun Drenched Sculpting Bronzer* (all soft sandy beach tones) from the same range again and again over the (xen) tanned months.

I finished off my go-to-glam look with the softest, cats-eyes corner lashes from my little box of tricks, otherwise known as Dianne Brill’s Lash Lingerie Extensions** from http://www.powderrooms.com/.
I have fallen entirely in love with this vintage hat-box styled set of 3 different lashes and this is my first-choice-birthday-present-for-chums.
At £23.50 it isn’t the cheapest little pot of glamour, but each of the 3 lash sets are soft, glamorous and ridiculously easy to apply.
And finally my nails also got dressed up for this special occasion in the appropriately named 'Guest List’ from the Ciaté Fashionista Paint Pots range.
These polishes are probably amongst the glossiest I’ve ever used and the durability is incredible.
‘Guest List’ is a devilishly dark aubergine colour, and others in the range include ‘Vintage’ (dark asphalt grey), 3am girl (blackest black) and Burlesque (a deep purple blue) – check them out at http://www.ciate.co.uk/.

On arrival at Glasgow’s impressive Science Centre we were greeted by an eager bunch of photographers papping to their hearts content on the tartan carpet before being ushered into a schmoozing frenzied champagne reception where we caught up with the fab Kingdom of Style girlies (who were nominated in the category of Scottish Communicator of the Year) and the delicious Paolo Nutini who went on to win the Scottish Fashion Icon award.

The award ceremony itself was smooth and professionally hosted by the impressively polished MTV presenter Laura Whitmore who looked picture perfect in a green vintage styled frock - one of 3 outfit changes that night.
The list of well-deserved winners included Holly Fulton for Scottish Young Designer of the Year (Holly’s designs can be spotted on those Sex and the City gals in this year’s sequel success, and are also available on ASOS now!) and William Chambers for Scottish Accessory Designer of the Year (Glasgow’s very own rock and roll Milliner!). Jonathan Saunders also took the award for Scottish Designer of the Year.

Dinner followed with the guest star at each table being none other than Barbie herself adorned in a Saltire gown while post show entertainment came from the jaw droppingly spectacular Swarovski who provided the awards with a sparkling runway show – an exclusive European premiere no less.

Celebrities (including supermodel David Gandy wearing substantially more than his tighty whiteys than he’s become renown for) and guests alike then mingled in a VIP aftershow party which featured a performance from Robert Pattinson look-alike Alex Gardner http://www.alexgardnermusic.com/.
